All of our teachers are passionate about music and the development of children.
They create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's musical development.
Brenna Boncosky, director
Originally from Barrington (BHS Class of 94), Brenna is thrilled to be bringing her love and knowledge of early childhood music to her hometown. Brenna holds degrees from the University of Mississippi (BM Vocal Performance, 1998), the New England Conservatory of Music (MM Vocal Performance, 2002), and has received Music Together® Certification I from the Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton, NJ. In addition to teaching Music Together in Oak Brook, Elmhurst, and now Barrington, Brenna also teaches private voice lessons and sings professionally at the First United Methodist Church at the Chicago Temple in downtown Chicago as well as with the William Ferris Chorale.
Kathleen is a classically trained, lifelong musician who holds a BM in Music Education with concentrations in vocal performance and choral conducting (2005) as well as a MA in Teacher Leadership (2010), both from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. In addition to her Music Together Certification from the Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton, NJ, Kathleen also holds certifications in the Orff and Kodaly music methodologies. She taught elementary general music and choir for 8 years in Wheeling, Illinois, before the birth of her twins. Now a full time mom herself and a Music Together mom for the last two years, Kathleen is thrilled to be joining Ms. Brenna at Music Together of Barrington. After seeing the impact of the program on her very own family, she can't wait to bring this fun and meaningful program to the families of the Barrington area.
